Screen Setup & Film Separation Service — Per-Color Charge
Screen Setup & Film Separation Service — Per-Color Charge
This per-color service charge covers the complete prepress workflow for a single screen color: CMYK or spot-color separation of the submitted artwork file, output of a precision film positive at high resolution, coating a stretched aluminum or wood screen frame with photopolymer emulsion, exposing the film positive to UV light to harden the stencil, washing out the unexposed image area, and confirming registration marks and mesh count spec before the screen is approved for press.
This is the foundational production step required before any print run begins at Fashion Graphics LLC. Mesh counts are specified per color based on ink type: 160-count for standard plastisol spot colors, 200-count for fine halftone water-based work, 86-count for glitter/puff applications.
Coated aluminum screen frame with a sharp film positive laid on top, UV exposure lamp positioned above, squeegee and emulsion scoop coater beside it.
Prepress technician holding a freshly washed-out screen up to the lightbox, examining stencil image detail and mesh coverage with a loupe.
Film positive laid on a coated screen surface on the lightbox — dense black image area on transparent film with emulsion-coated mesh visible beneath.
